This project is designed to make students more aware of different energy sources. Students will select an energy source to research, select a presentation method and then deliver their information to the rest of the class. 

Students will become experts on their energy source and then teach the information to the rest of the class. Students will select from the following list (the percentages correspond with the United States energy consumption for that particular energy source).

Students will be able to select from the following presentation styles:

  • PowerPoint
  • Poster
  • Publisher
  • Prezi.com (new style of presenting)
  • Movie Maker
  • Insperation 8 (graphic organizer)

This allows students to explore different types of presentation methods as well as offering the opportunity to select a method they are comfortable with. 


Presentations will include:

·   Title Slide

·   8-10 slides that provide the following information about the energy source:

o description of the energy source, including renewable or nonrenewable

o history of the energy source

o where the energy source is found and how it is recovered

o how energy is stored in the source and how the energy is released

o how the energy source is used today

o advantages and disadvantages of the energy source

o economic impacts of the energy source

o environmental impacts of the energy source

o future of the energy source

o ACTIVITIES explaining your energy source

o other interesting facts about the energy source
