  • Bal-A-Vis-X is a set of exercises that incorporates balance, as well as auditory and visual input. They progress from simple to complex and are beneficial to coordination and attention skills. The basis of the exercises is rhythm.

Weighted beanbags are used to teach the basic skills of rhythm and patterns. If a child cannot catch, the exercises can be adapted to the level appropriate for that child. A balance board is sometimes used with the skills, depending on the needs of the student.

Skills are introduced as individual exercises. When students are competent at this level, they are introduced to partner exercises.

Students enjoy working on the ball skills. Besides working on visual & auditory skills, balance, and coordination, they gain a sense of pride and achievement as they master each skill and advance to the next higher level.

As students become experienced with a particular skill, they are sometimes asked to assist other students in learning that skill. This also improves their skills, as well as their confidence.
