Board of Education Petitions Available March 3rd
Nominating petitions for Board of Education Member Candidates must be filed with the District Clerk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. not later than April 21, 2025. Three (3) vacancies are to be filled and the voting will be at large (rather than by seat).
Candidates must have been a resident within the school district for a period of one year preceding the election for which he or she is a candidate and had one (1) year residency in the school district as of May 20, 2025.
Each petition must be signed by 25 qualified voters of the District, must state the residence of each signer and must state the name and residence of the candidate.
In addition, candidates must file campaign expenditure and reimbursement statements. According to Education Law, Sections 1528 and 1529, disclosure statements must be completed, notarized* and returned to the District Clerk on the following schedule:
- The 1st statement is due on or before the 30th day before the election [April 21, 2025];
- The 2nd statement is due on or before the 5th day before the election [May 15, 2025];
- The 3rd statement is due within 20 days after the election [by June 09, 2025].
