    PE Teachers.....Mr. Sladewski...."MR. S" coaches Boys and Girls Modified Cross Country, Track and Field and Varsity Boys Indoor Track

    Miss Gravelle....."Miss G"  coaches Girls Varsity Tennis, Varsity Indoor Track as a volunteer for the throwers and Varsity Boys and Girls Track, specializing in the throwing events.

    Physical Education Rules can be found in the Plattekill Elementary School Handbook......All Children need to wear sneakers to PE.....laces, zippers or velco are perfect......School Policy states no "Slip On Shoes", sneakers with heals, "T-Strap" or open sneakers and no "Heelies" (a rule of thumb, if we can see the tops of your feet/socks your sneaker is not safe.)

    PE Grades are based on Participation and Attitude.  Practice Makes Perfect:)  We will be finishing the Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge for grades 4-6 in the first 10 weeks.  Results will go home

    with the students report cards in November.

    If your child/children are injured or sick a doctors note must be given to the Health Office for your child's file.  The doctor is the only person allowed to excuse a child for an extended period of time......also a doctor is the only one allowed to release your child to resume activity and play.

     

    SOME IMPORTANT DATES......Homecoming Weekend is the Panther Cub Challenge Running Races at the HS Track......all Boys and Girls in grades 3-6 are welcome to join and compete. 

    In the Fall we do the Panther Physical Fitness Challenge......This is a NY State Required Assessment of your child's fitness......Challenge Involves....1 mile run/walk, The Shuttle Run, 60 Seconds of sit-ups, Flexibility/Sit and Reach and Pulls Ups or Flexed Arm Hang

    February is Healthy Heart Month and the 3 Elementary Buildings pair up with The American Heart Association to raise money by doing the Jump Rope for Heart 

    Miss Gravelle is on the Southern Ulster Rotary Dooley Race Team.......to become involved/participate in this community event check back later for dates.....Last Sunday in March!
