The purpose of the screening program in schools is to identify students with potential impaiment that will require further follow up evaluation from a health care provider. Identifying students with possible impairment is necessary to provide the necessary assistance and accomodations to ensure the student is able to reach their full potential.
High School NYS Mandates are as follows
Scoliosis- Boys in grade 9
Vision and Hearing- Grade 11
Physical Exams are required for students in grades 9 and 11. If the above screenings are done by the students physician, the physicians findings will be noted and student will not be rescreened in school.
